The past three months have without a doubt been the worst of my life. This is not an exaggeration in any way what so ever.

Starting in June I did badly in a class I thought I was doing well in. Consequently I lost my appointment to USAFA, something I have trained my life around for the past 7 years. Consequently, I have felt abandoned by God, let alone the the indescribable feeling of watching a good and secure future fade away. After drifting aimlessly through July and August, I now have a job.... Pushing shopping carts at Sam's Club. Additionally all my friends, and I am not really sure if some of them still are, are gone and enjoying themselves in college (with the exception of wade).

The centerpiece of this tale of woe is that over the past several weeks Shannon (The only light I have had in this storm) has become increasingly stressed and worried over this whole mess that is my life. Leading to tonight, the first time that Shannon and I have not been able to talk through things. We actually had to end our conversation early. In the 13 months we have been together we have talked nearly every night. We have never had a fight, and only once have I not been able to console her when she was distraught. Leaving our conversation unfinished and us parting in tears is without precedent. If I am not in school for spring semester I think it is possible she might leave me. Knowing that I still had Shannon was the only thing that kept me going since the Academy fiasco. If I should loose her I honestly do not know what I will do.

Your prayers would be most appreciated.

PS On a happy note I went shooting with my dad tonight and I did quite well. Best 5 shot group is < 1 inch at 20 feet.
